Oscar and his Twin

I swore I'd never make another Oscar after doing the first one, but then after a while the trauma of making him dimmed and I decided to make one for my young niece for and Xmas present.
After making a second one I can say with certainty I'm never making another one! XD"
But my Niece loved her dragon so it was worth it. X3


Oscar is a magic dragon, originally he looked just like any ordinary dragon, all scales and a single boring colour, but one day he sneezed while saying a spell and accidentally turned himself into a fluffy, multi-coloured dragon.

Now because of all the fluff he can't say a spell right because it keeps getting in his mouth and up his nose making him sneeze even more, so he can't turn himself back into a normal colour.

Unable to practice magic for fear of miscasting a spell even worse, so he took up playing piano instead.

Oscars has a brother called Arthur.

My Mum bought me the awesome fur fabric that oscar is made of.
originally he was just going to be a random monster but then he evolved into a dragon.

The head is my own addaption of the roly pattern from [link]
It's a further addaption from the bird puppets I've made.
The body is my own pattern.
The body and head are lined inside to keep his stuffing in place.

Eyes are made of half ping pong balls painted.

the teeth were sew in with the felt mouth plate which worked better than I expected.

The belly and wings are fleece, the spikes and claws etc are rainbow glitter felt.

inserting the head to sew it to the body on this one was the hardest one yet, I left the body unstuffed untill after the head was attached in order to give more room but it was still a close call!
Luckily both the fleece and fur fabric had a bit of stretch which made it possible to attach his head!

Oscar is a sturdy little fella, he can even stand up on his own thanks to his sturdy legs and tail!

Oscar does look best in action as all the fun flies about in an amusing way.
When he's sitting still he's just a big fluffy lump really! ^^"

Oscar is my most ambitious and complex puppet to date, The only part I don't think is right is that his wings are a bit small and too low on his body.
I think he turned out better than I could have hoped tho.
